Roland Ruffing's career at METRO started in 2004 when he joined MAKRO Cash & Carry Poland in July 2004 as Director Finance and changed in February 2009 in the same position to MAKRO Czech Republic/ MCC Slovakia. In November 2010 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer METRO Cash & Carry Hungary and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer METRO Cash&Carry in November 2013. In August 2015 Roland Ruffing became the member of the Operating Board of METRO Cash & Carry.
