MOL Group completes the acquisition of Slovenian Downstream business of ENI

MOL Group completed the acquisition of ENIĀ“s Slovenian Downstream business, the company announced.

2016-07-01 17:07:52

MOL and ENI signed a share-purchase agreement last year concerning the takeover of the entire retail network and wholesale business of ENI in Slovenia.

As a result of the acquisition MOL retail network grows by 17 service stations and strengthens the company's position among the top three retail network operators in the country. The deal complements MOL's current local network of 40 stations and the company establishes its retail presence in Ljubljana. Following the closing of the transaction the company expects to consolidate all service stations in the country under the MOL brand.

Lars Hoglund, Senior Vice President of MOL Group Retail commented: "Slovenia is for us a very important market due to close proximity to our refineries. Furthermore, the acquisition of 17 new stations will make us more accessible for our customers and give us a chance to make many more people on the move smile and feel welcomed. Driven by this purpose we continuously seek to improve our service level and our offer, developed according to the needs of the modern customer on the move."

With the acquisition of ENI Slovenija d.o.o., MOL Group will rebrand the Agip stations to MOL and introduce the Fresh Corner concept.
