Reflections of Romania, a book to be released at the end of May

Romania through the lenses of expat women is project to take shape in a book title Reflections of Romania, to be released on May 30.

2016-05-24 11:14:29

The book is available at a cost of 50 lei and makes an ideal gift for family and friends as well as clients. During the evening there will be a silent auction. This will comprise of the best photographic prints from the book, as judged by the panel. The print for our cover photograph will be auctioned via live bidding during the event.

The project "Romania Through the Lenses of Expat Women" started seven years ago when a group of amateur photographers combined their passion for photography with the desire to give something back to the country they were living in.

A charity project was subsequently born, the production of a book featuring photographs taken around Romania. Twenty one amateur expat women photographers take part in this project on an annual basis. The participants share the task of publishing the book. They each provide photographs taken by them of their travels and experiences within Romania. The pictures for the book are selected by a jury of well-established photographers. They choose the best two photographs from each participant to be published in the book. One of these is enlarged and printed and these form the Reflections of Romania exhibition. All prints are available for purchase.

This project is both an opportunity to go out on organised and informal photo tours and offers interesting outings for people feeling passionate about photography. The publication promotes Romania as a beautiful country and at the same time represents an important charity project - helping those members of community most in need.

All the money generated through sponsorship and book sales goes to nominated charities, this year, project supports Association of Social Services SCUT Brasov (http://www.scutbv.ro ) and Atelier Fara Frontiere Association (http://atelierefarafrontiere.ro )
