Tetra Pak: bio dairy market will continue to grow in the next five years
The organic dairy market will continue to grow in coming years, both on the organic milk core segment and among the value-added products, according to a company release quoted by Ziarul Financiar. The development of the sector is supported both by local producers, who contributed to the supply diversification initially present only through private import brands, but also by retailers who develop separate placement areas for bio pro 2016-04-10 12:02:27 - From the Print Edition
"Romanians understand increasingly more that it is important to make healthy food choices, and bio milk, along with the whole organic dairy segment, is seen more often in their shopping carts," stated Catalina Siriteanu, operational marketing director at Tetra Pak South Eastern Europe. "This consumption habit is gaining ground in particular through brands like Napolact or LaDorna, who have decided to extend the offer with products in Tetra Pak packages, strengthening its premium portfolio and offering to consumers a complete experience: sustainable products in environmental-friendly packaging. In general, consumer expectations have increased; 26 per cent of those from developing countries check the labels and packaging of products and beverages to see if they are obtained through sustainable practices or through environmentally friendly materials, while 29 per cent check whether they are organic."
Euromonitor International data show that the bio dairy market in Romania has almost tripled in value over the past six years, quotes Ziarul Financiar. At the current pace, the study indicates a market of over 28 million RON in 2020 compared to 19.6 million RON in 2015.
