The agribusiness division of Agricover posts 1.19 billion lei turnover in 2015
The agribusiness division of Agricover posts 1.19 billion lei turnover in 2015, with 33 per cent increase of volumes for input distribution. Also, the company report stated investments worth over 18 million lei in 2015. 2016-03-17 12:24:57
The growth comes in a context of over 30 per cent drop of the overall countrywide agriculture production in 2015, due to the long lasting drought, as well as an inertia of agriculture input market, for the first time in the last ten years. Agricover put 18 billion lei in silo and a meat processing unit. In the department of fruits and vegetables, under the overall brand name of Dor de Gust, the company reached a volume of 8.200 tons of Romanian-produced fruits and vegetables distributed in the major retail units and processing industry.
The input distribution division acted the most dynamic in 2015, delivering a growth of over 33 per cent of volumes. The purchasing inputs financing commercial contracts for farmers reached over 170 million lei, addig to the financial solutions offered through Agricover Credit IFN.
In 2015, Agricover stated that it has reached 4.500 farmers, working 1.5 million hectares. The number of company employees operating the agribusiness department increased to 726 last year, compared to 542 in 2014, a growth supported by the modernization of the silo. Currently, Agricover has over 850 employees.
