The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and the Bucharest Stock Exchange organized an economic mission in New York and Washington, DC from September 28 to October 2, to promote Romanian companies. Attracting foreign investments is fundamental for Romania′s development, thus the CCIR intends to contribute directly to Romania′s re-launch on the international markets, the Chamber stated in a release on September 28. "A major goal of the CCIR is to support entrepreneurs by enhancing the collaboration with European and trans-Atlantic partners. This mission provides an opportunity for Romanian companies to meet businesspeople in their field of activity. The interests of the members of the CCIR-led delegation are oriented towards identifying new business opportunities, export-import and cooperation in fields like the oil and gas industry, cybersecurity, transportation infrastructure and tourist services", CCIR President Mihai Daraban declared. The mission began with the BestInvest business forum in New York, where Romanian companies met American investors interested in Romania′s evolutions and in the opportunities it offers, alongside other countries in the region.
