ABSL: Number of employees in business services expected to grow by 60 per cent until 2017

The business services sector is expected to reach 100,000 employees by 2017, according to a study of KPMG developed for The Association of Business Service Leaders in Romania- ABSL.

According to study results, the business services sector recorded accelerated growth in the past 10 years, totaling so far over 60.000 employees, out of which 30 per cent are registered with ABSL. In 2014, the profesinals in the industry stood for 1.9 per cent of active poluation and the sector contributed with 1.4 per cent to the Romanian GDP. The study also reveals that 25 per cent of profesionals work in It industry, almost the same share is hired by the outsourcing industry, while 50 per cent work in financial and accounting services, human resources and others. The KPMG study analysed the operations of 29 top companies in business services along 2015. The companies represented in the study total over 18.000 employees, out of which 90 per cent ar university graduates, 81 per cent work in Bucharest, 7 per cent in Cluj-Napoca and 12 per cent are working in iasi, Timisoara, Brasov and Craiova.


The business services sector exceeded 1.5 billion Euro in 2014 and the 29 companies present in the study totaled 675 million Euro turnover in 2014.
