Auchan completed the final stage of Real Hypermarket taking over

The French group Auchan paid 257 million in the transaction related to purchase of 20 Real hypermarkets, according to a report of Auchan group. At the beginning of this year, The Competition Council approved the taking over by French retailer Auchan of 12 commercial centres and hypermarkets in a transaction estimated at over 260 million Euro.

According to the Competition Council, Auchan will become the sole operator of Tim Property Development, Ideal Casa Design, BR Real Friends, Compact Motor, Art Bau International, Metro Imobiliare Investment and all the assets and rental contracts of Commercial Center Pitesti operated by Rolast. The retail spaces are located in cities such as Timisoara (2), Cluj-Napoca, Baia Mare, Oradea, Satu Mare, Galati, Ploiesti, Bucuresti Berceni, Constanta, Bucuresti Pallady and Pitesti.

In December last year, Auchan opened its 32nd retail shop in Romania, with a national presence of 18 cities. It also has a commercial centre under construction at Brasov. Last year, Auchan completed the taking over of 20 Real hypermarkets acquired from German retail group Metro in 2012.
