The AXA group stops selling operations of Romania
The contract for the selling of AXA Life Insurance Romania insurance operations to Certinvest and SIF Transilvania announced on 18 December 2014 stopped and the insurance company evaluates at present strategic operations, taking into consideration the interest of the clients and the employees in Romania,announced on Friday the company in a press release. 2015-07-06 18:48:06
The AXA bonds are listed in the section A of the Stock Exchange Euronext of Paris. The AXA group is included under its main indicators SRI international, such as Down Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and FTSE4GOOD. According to the agreement signed at the end of last year by the three entities the AXA group had to sell its insurance operations for life insurance and savings in Romania and withdraw from the local market.
In accordance with the terms of the agreement SAI Certinvest acquired a share of 70% of the AXA Romania branch (AXA Life Insurance SA) while SIF Transilvania bought 30%. The terms and conditions of the trading were not made public.
The AXA group is world leader in the domain of insurances and assets management, with 161,000 employees who serve 103 million clients in 59 countries. In 2014, the turnover of the group reported on the IFRS basis went up to 92 billion euro and the winnings reported on the IFRS basis at 5. Billion euro. On 31 December 2014, AXA had to manage assets worth 1,227 billion Euro.
The group is a founding member of the Financial Initiative of the Programme for Environment of the United Natins (UNEP FI). The principles of sustainable insurances and signitary of the UN Principles for responsible investment.
