In this context, Crowne Plaza Bucharest, together with the Belgian Embassy in Romania and the Belgian Romanian Business Association, organizes between 20th and 26th April the "Belgian Week", an event dedicated to business networking and Belgian cuisine.

The success of the budget cars in Belgium has stimulated growth for Romanian exports, while Belgian companies investing in Romania has increased substantially in the last four years. Most prominent markets for Belgian investment are the outsourcing and nearsourcing, present in Bucharest, Bihor, Banat and Iasi area. Belgian companies occupy a pole position in logistics, intermodal transport, warehousing, distribution, estate management and business centres. In food production, Belgian companies have lately developed a regional policy, including not only the Romanian market but also the markets in neighbouring countries. This is the case for the distribution sector, including supermarkets and hypermarkets, as well as companies, providing services to the local market.

The "Belgian Week" event, taking place at Crowne Plaza Bucharest celebrates the economic relations between Romania and Belgium. Thus, a series of events and activities, designed to create opportunities for promoting products and services in both countries in order to establish new partnerships are going to be held during "Belgian Week".

"The economic partnership between Belgium and Romania has a strong tradition as Belgium is an important investor in Romania since the 1920'. I am very excited about the evolution of the economic relations between the two countries in recent years and I think a week dedicated to these relationships will create new opportunities of collaboration.", declared Philippe Beke, Belgian Ambassador to Romania.

The Belgian Week event has a strong culinary part and is dedicated to the Belgian food lovers or to those eager to discover it. Those who will take part in the event can choose between a la carte menu, 3 course menus or a Belgian Sunday brunch, from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Throughout the "Belgian Week", other events will take place, such as seminars on passive housing, social economy, packaging, image management and others, networking activities, a Belgian Business Day and a Gala event at which occasion a social economy award will be given to a best project.
