Crowne Plaza Bucharest Hotel has new general manager

Ana Hotels Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Angelo Zuccala as General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Bucharest Hotel, owned and operated by Ana Hotels under franchise agreement with the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG).

2015-04-08 12:30:31

Angelo Zuccala has an overall 19-year professional experience in the hospitality industry, the past 12 of which were within the InterContinental Hotels Group, where he specialized in sales, food&beverage and in managing large hotel operations.

The first senior management position he held within IHG was with the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel on the Croisette in Cannes, starting in 2002, where he managed the Sales, Conventions&Banqueting department dealing with many city trade fairs, MICE events and the world renowned Cannes Film Festival.

"I am delighted to have joined the Crowne Plaza Bucharest at such an exciting time for the hotel. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment and investment is continuing to include the fitness, pool area and conference rooms. The Crowne Plaza is well positioned for both business travelers, who value proximity to the airport and an environment with outside green space, perfect for relaxing or organizing large open air events, and leisure travelers who appreciate an affordable alternative to the more expensive hotels downtown. For the local market, we are working on new, exciting and innovative food and beverage concepts both within and outside the hotel, as we are looking to take our outside catering services to another level. I am pleased to be here, I love Bucharest and look forward to leading the team and continuing to develop this incredible hotel to become number 1 in its market by the end of 2015!"

The Crowne Plaza Bucharest Hotel will, by the end of 2015, boast a complete refurbishment of all of its 164 rooms according to the latest trends in design and functionality. The total investment in room redesign will rise to 2.2 million Euro.

Alongside the totally new look of the rooms, Crowne Plaza will invest in a refurbishment of the fitness and pool area and in May it will open a newly designed terrace under its latest brand Citronelle–market to table. This investment will be followed by an upgrade of all the conference rooms, scheduled for 2016.

Since it inauguration in 1998, the hotel has become the preferred hotel for business travelers in the Northern part of the city, as well as the favorite venue for conferences, seminars and social events and a hallmark for the quality of its Food & Beverage offering.
