Endava appoints former UBS executive Eoin Woods as new CTO

As part of the strategy to enable the growth of the organisation, Endava has hired Eoin Woods from UBS to take up the newly created position of CTO. As a technology services company, the role of CTO at Endava will involve defining technical direction within the firm and to key clients, by identifying emerging technical trends and discerning how Endava can help clients to capitalize on the opportunities that they present.

2015-04-02 15:29:44

At UBS Eoin held a number of senior technology positions, most recently Head of Technical Architecture for Group Operations Technology. In this role he was instrumental in setting technical strategy for the group and implementing industry and technical standards across the software development teams. Prior to UBS he worked in capital markets at Barclays Global Investors and in software product development at Sybase, InterTrust, and Bull.

"I'm delighted to join Endava at such an exciting time for the group, as it continues its strong growth across all of its core markets. I'm looking forward to working with our talented technical staff in Romania, Moldova and Macedonia, to support them in developing our leading-edge capability that drives the quality and efficiency of our clients' technology and platforms. The work I'll be doing with our CEE sites includes setting technical strategy for the group, ensuring that we have the right tools and technologies on our projects and tracking emerging technical trends that will impact our clients," said Eoin Woods, Endava's new CTO.

Eoin is an active member of the software engineering community, regularly speaking at events and writing on a range of topics, including co-authoring the book "Software Systems Architecture", published by Addison Wesley. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS), and a Chartered Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Eoin Woods explained: "Some of the important technical trends that we see in the immediate future include harnessing big data for business insight, reducing software delivery delays through continuous delivery and DevOps, capitalising on the efficiency and flexibility promised by software defined infrastructure and meeting the challenges of scale implied by the Internet of Things."

Eoin Woods has already begun a series of visits to all Endava delivery centres in Eastern Europe. He met with Endava's technical teams in Cluj at the end of February and has other visits scheduled in April and May to Iasi and Bucharest offices.

Endava is a leading European IT services organisation with over 1,800 full time employees. Headquartered in London, Endava has offices in the UK, USA, Germany, Romania, Macedonia and Moldova and reported revenues of £64 m for the year 2013 -2014.
