Minister of Energy joined a meeting at Sofia on regional interconnectivity of natural gas resources
Minister of Energy Andrei Gerea attended a high-level meeting at Sofia, in Bulgaria to discuss the theme of regional interconnectivity of natural gas resources in Central and South-Eastern Europe. 2015-02-11 11:33:44
The topics discussed comprised the perspectives of regional supply of natural gas, besides the short-term solutions regarding the interconnectivity. A release of the Ministry reads: "The participants to the meeting discussed about the status of interconnectivity and storage solutions, besides their short-term evolution. Also, on the agenda, the demand for natural gas in Romania has been a key-topic."
Other discussion comprised the role of Romania within the region and diversification of resources, in the context of regional energetic security matter. Hence, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and probably Hungary will form a sub-group responsible for structuring the Vertical Corridor to provide the interconnectivity of natural gas supply for these states.
The meeting at Sofia welcomed the vice-president of European Commission Maros Sefcovic, the Commissioner for Energy and Activities against Climatic Changes, Miguel Arias Canete, along with high-level officials of CEE countries.
