Kugler, aged 53, will replace Bruno Ancelin who was promoted CEO at Renault to plan new products. Eurasia will include 15 markets where Renault is present from 11 at present, a Renault press release shows.

In the new configuration, the region includes Romania, Russia, Turkey, Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Romania, Moldova, Turkey and Bulgaria were previously included in the Euromed-Africa region.

In January 2013 Kugler and other Dacia-Renault officials were decorated by Traian Basescu for their "outstanding contribution to the development of the automobile industry in Romania".

Renault appointed Bernard Cambier in the position of vicepresident of the group and president of the newly created region Africa-Middle East-India and Philippe Klein as exclusive Nissan vicepresident.
