Xerox is on positive trend after stagnation in 2013

Due in no small part to the economic crisis, companies have become more careful with their budgets and began to seek effective solutions to reduce costs, increase productivity and simplify activities that were not a part of the core business. Thus, the technologies and document management services of US-based Xerox have helped companies overcome the turmoil and optimize processes related to documents, Gabriel Pantelimon says.

"Since 2009, more and more companies began to use business processes and document management services," Pantelimon tells The Diplomat-Bucharest. "Whether we talk about financial activities, human resources activities or about the work with documents in general, our services focus exclusively on helping companies to simplify their activities which are not part of their core business, in order for them to concentrate on the ones that bring profit to the company."

In order to shift its focus from an office and production equipment supplier to a technology services provider, in 2009 US-based printer and copier manufacturer Xerox acquired ITO and BPO company Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) for 6.4 billion USD. The global strategy has been implemented on the local market two years later, through ACS purchasing Italian BPO company XL World, which held two offices in Romania (Iasi and Oradea). Subsequently, the company opened another office in Bucharest. Both locally and internationally, the document management services business accounts for more than 50 per cent of Xerox′s total revenues and it is still growing, according to the general manager. If Xerox Romania and its 2013 business was almost stable compared to 2012, this year the activities are on a positive trend.
