DHL to see ten per cent volume growth by the end of the year

The value of the international express courier market is estimated to be around 100 million Euro, according to Daniel Kreavell, managing director of DHL Express Romania, one of the three divisions of DHL International Romania.

2014-08-13 15:44:32

The company market share in international express air services was around 42 per cent last year, and for 2014 the general manager expects to reach 45 per cent. Moreover, in terms of volumes, the company saw a 13 per cent increase in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 and is expecting at least ten per cent growth by the end of the year.

"The express courier market is very competitive, something which requires the continuous improvement of our services and performance," Kreavell tells The Diplomat-Bucharest. "I think as relevant as statistics is to be optimistic about the opportunities we have in Romania. We should be confident in Romania and to acknowledge the fact that we do have considerable strength in this country. DHL is confident in its potential," the manager added.

Last year, 98 per cent of all export express shipments from Romania reached their destination within the target transit time.
