Exclusive    Bucharest Stock Exchange starts the week positively fueled by good news from the Asian markets

The Romanian markets started higher this week, following the overnight gains in the Asian markets fuelled by China decision to cut its reserve-ratio requirement for banks and by hopes of a solution towards Greece.

February 2012

At mid-day the Bucharest Stock Exchange main indexes were: BET +1.00 percent and BET-FI +1.08 percent. The total transaction value was still lower around RON 10 mln, reflecting hesitation from some market participants, mainly because the US markets won't open today in the observation of the President's Day and secondly because not having a definitive deal in the Greece saga.

SIF Muntenia has reported that the shareholder meetings hadn't reached for the second time the necessary 50 percent quorum to approve the changes to their Constitutive Act in the light of the Parliament decision to raise the amount  allow to hold shares in SIFs from 1 percent to 5 percent. Because of not having quorum for the second time, SAI Muntenia Invest, the administrator of SIF Muntenia, will take the measure to modify the Constitutive Act and adopt the Parliament decision.
