BauMax posts a slightly increased turnover for 2011, with 14 units opened in Romania

Austrian bricolage retailer BauMax, operating 14 units in Romania of which two located in Bucharest, posted a slightly increased turnover last year, of EUR 132 million , as the company states in a press release. In 2011, the company opened its second retail unit in Bucharest, after the first located in Sun Plaza, while the other units opened in cities as Constanta, Timisoara and Pitesti have been opened in 2010. According to the company’s data, a unit registeres average sales worth EUR 13- 14 million per year. For this year, BauMax plans to open a new store in Cluj , following an investment of EUR 20 million. In Romania, bauMax competes with Dedeman, Praktiker, Bricostore and OBI and Hornbach.
