Compulsory energy certificates introduced for all home sales
SELLERS TAKE NOTE From the beginning of this year, all sellers of houses or landlords must provide an energy certificate detailing the energy efficiency of the home, accredited by professional auditors February 2011 - From the Print Edition
Depending on the annual consumption, each building or apartment belongs to an energy class from A [high energy efficiency] to G [low energy efficiency].
Most of Romania’s pre-1989 buildings fall into the mid-tier classes of C and D.
This EU rule leaves it up to member states to formulate their own structure for penalties to be applied to those who do not conform to this new regulation.
Romania is now preparing to create legislation framework for sanctions in the following month
