South Korea still eyes local energy, auto and hi-tech potential

After starting diplomatic relations with Romania 20 years ago, South Korea has enjoyed a fertile investor relationship with the ex-Communist state, with its companies pouring in around 530 million USD.
But this economic bond has been tested by the financial crisis, which saw investment slacken and trade between the two countries slash by 50 per cent in 2009 compared to 2008.
